ULTIMATE RV PREPPERS, HERE YOU GO!!!

I saw a show about this facility on True TV yesterday, 08/21/13. This facility used to be an underground government facility. Since the government now has almost 150 newly finished Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMBs) they are now selling many older facilities and unused missle silos to civilian contractors which are converting and selling space to the less elite that are not currently on the "Save List."

Here you go, an Underground RV Park located in Kansas is now selling RV spaces for any size RV at very reasonable costs. The RV Park is already completed and was dug by the U.S. government several years ago. When it is time to go underground for the next devastating catastrophe, your space will be ready for you're rig and family. Your RV space comes with 1 year's worth of food for each person in your rig. Perhaps the most unique feature of the shelter is that members can drive any full size recreational trailer or motor home directly inside, with space for more than 1,000 vehicles. Like an underground RV park, each family will enjoy the privacy of their own vehicle, meeting their particular needs and comfort standards.

I post this information only for informational purposes since it has to do with RVs. Check out the site, you may find it to be some interesting reading.

This topic was posted a while back, but I agree with hitchup, when my time comes, I hope to be looking at the sun, not the inside of a cave.

I also noticed they have an indoor gun facility, which I think would probably be a place to get the weapons to take care of those neighbors who get on your nerves (after about a week). If anyone thinks they have "issues" at today's campgrounds, close your eyes and imagine what it would be like underground, dealing with similar issues. There isn't enough valium!

My parents have used an old salt mine set up for winter storage of RVs in PA for years. Most likely this one in KS was also originally a salt mine, as there are lots out there.

Converting it into an RV park is clever and would make for a unique (short) stay. It's not a bad idea.

As for Preppers (or whatever) ... LAUGH. A cave like this would require ventilation (electricity), lighting (electricity), and fresh water (possibly natural, but likely not). Electricity requires fuel and a generator and/or solar panels and wind generators. Fuel is consumed, and all of those other things have relatively short useful lifetimes and need replacement parts. Ahh well... I always have this problem with "preppers".

Probably 15yrs. ago at a FMCA rally I played golf with a guy from Kansas City who stored his MH in and underground facility near there. Climate controlled by Ma Nature, low humidity, no sunlight and constant temps. Seems like it was an abandoned mine buy can't remember what kind.

In event of a potential nuclear holocaust, my intention is to hop into the ol' RV and drive towards ground zero. I don't have the knowledge or desire to survive in a devastated world. And survival would only be temporary - until you ran out of food and water that didn't glow in the dark, or until a fellow survivalist with a bigger gun took yours away from you.
As for vacationing in a cave, I might as well just put a cot in my basement.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

DH was looking at the underground bunkers 2 years ago. We were both amazed at the prices and how many there were. He wanted something big enough for our family of 5 and their families.

But I told him, if we had to stay cooped up underground with all those people, I'd rather take my chances on the surface.
