That is the weekend of the Newport Seafood & Wine Festival. We were lucky enough to go out about two weeks ago and get a spot in F loop. Currently only a few spaces in the 45' range still available, only the shorter 30' to 40' spaces on the inside of the loops are still open.
The park opens all loops for this event and in the past has been serviced by shuttle buses.
Current Reserve America Map only Blue are available. Currently only 65 sites available out of 325 sites are still available. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well just did a look at Reserve America, and down to 9 spaces left!!! out of 325 sites.

Just spent a week over New Years there and the weather was pretty nice, many sunny days, and a little freezing rain.

Sorry but I'll stay home and drink wine in my house before I'd risk towing my 5er over snow and or black ice. Been to the SFWF 2x and it's really nothing more than a young persons excuse to get drunk. Yes there's lots of wine to taste and buy. With the shuttle buses running continuously it makes it very easy to get wasted and not have to worry about driving back to the CG.
Don't get me wrong it's a great place to people watch and drink. But not at the risk of a possible accident on the way.

They open all loops for the SFWF. We've stayed there before during it. It's full. But it depends on the weather. We tried two years in a row to go a couple years ago and the same weekend there was snow forecasted for the coast range. We cancelled. I would make reservations for sure. Only costs your res fee to cancel if cancelled in time IIRC.

Snow in the coast Range, not sure that would stop us :h Been there done that. I just looked out of curiosity and the SP north of Newport Beverly Beach is also very full another great park on the coast.

Snow what Snow.

I was there a couple of years ago and I would stay again in the adjacent Port of Newport campground - you can roll back to your RV from there after a few brews
