I am looking for something to refinish my campers roof,
,its made of plywood coated with epoxy and after few years it always needs repainting..
Looking for something more durable longer lasting..
Is this product as good as they claim?

A boaters mind coming at you. From what you say the roof seems to be in good shape & already coated with epoxy. By that I assume epoxy resin as used in boats. Tough stuff.

I had a boat with a cockpit deck constructed much the same way. Topcoat used was epoxy paint.

Yep. Epoxy is tough. But UV kills it, that's why it's important to paint it over. 100% acrylic latex paint works well. Won't last same long as epoxy paint, but it's so much cheaper that it pays off eventually. When epoxied ply starts deteriorating, it's usually at the edges or damages/imperfections on the surface. If it still looks intact, I wouldn't bother with EPDM.

The primer is made specifically for the Liquid Roof by the same company.

Free radical - make sure the EPDM liquid rubber is compatible with epoxy. Cured epoxy is very picky when it comes to adhesion, not too many things sticks to it. At the very least, wash it real well to remove the epoxy "own" byproducts from the surface.

Several good products out there. I prefer Bus Kote.
Used it on two rigs. Good outcome.

I am having a spray on roof replacement done this week on my fifth wheel. It is a product, similar to a bed liner, but lighter in overall weight. I had water damage to my roof and a piece lol wood needs replacement, so while this is being done I chose to have a maintenance free spray on roof applied. 20 year, transferable warranty. No caulking is needed as they spray over those areas.

I will post a new thread when it is completed with pics.

Another vote for the liquid epdm. I did mine almost 5 years ago and it is starting to get a little rough. Going to re-do it as soon as I get a week without rain. I painted it up and over every seam and seal on the roof and have not needed to caulk anything up top for 5 years. Well worth it in my opinion.

For best results, make sure you RTFM before you start applying.

I also painted my rubber roof with the Liquid Roof product and posted about it, with pictures, here.

That was done three years ago and it is still holding up well although it is quite dirty and does not look nearly as good as it did then. I think I will probably do it again in a year or two.

The product works very well and is worth the effort in my opinion. ๐Ÿ™‚

As far as using the Herculiner goes, I would pass on that. One of our members did that and thought it was fine until he posted this update recently.

Look at Herculiner available on line or at place with auto supplies. It's a roll on bedliner for pickups, but works on various surfaces. I've seen several posts where it's been used on RV roofs.

I think this is a good product. Be thoughtful and well prepared in your application. Here is a post of mine (see last in the thread) from my experience applying.
