Our 19 year old Magic Chef microwave died a few days ago. When I removed it and pulled off the cover, I found the primary fuse was open with no signs of blowing from an overload. The fuse looked more like it vibrated apart or failed from metal fatigue, so I stuck in a similar 15 amp slow blow fuse from my spares as a test. The microwave lit right up and worked normally. Now reinstalled in it's cabinet, the microwave has continued to function normally.
