Hello all,
The nonskid tape is peeling off the ramp of my TH and many of the high wear areas like the steps, tongue and frame around the ramp/ door frame and hardware are painted black but the paint is peeling or wearing badly.

I was looking at this product
https://www.nonskidpaint.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=31

Has anyone had any experience with this or something similar?

Thanks

The ramp and other areas I want to paint are metal so I don't want to experiment. I'm leaning toward durabak.

Rustoleum(sp) has a product called Restore that they say can be used on decks, etc. I plan on buying some and trying it on the decking of my ATV trailer which is plywood. It has some non-skid of some type in it so it won't be so slick. Four gallon bucket at the local Ace is about $90. May take about that much to do my 8X10 deck.

My cargo floor and ramp are plywood. I don't know about DeckOver performance on metal. The information for this product only references wood and concrete.

Thanks for the input.
I've used the Behr deck product on wood but never on metal. Glad to hear it will work for that as well.
I've been curious about the durabak as well and may use that just because I was considering using it on the tub, wheel wells, rocker panels and corners of my old CJ-7 so this may be a good time to try it out.

I'll post pics when I get it done.

I painted the deck of my utility trailer with a quality oil based enamel. While it was still wet I poured play sand on the deck. When dry the excess sand swept off and the embedded sand was the same color as the paint. It isn't necessary to mix the sand into the paint before painting.

On my cargo ramps made from 2 x 12s I just took some leftover latex paint and mixed in some sand (busted bag of quickcrete sand from Lowes for $1) and painted them. It looks good provide really good non-skid surface, on the cheap

I'd use Durabak. I lined my trailer with it. VERY durable and textured or not as you wish.

I have painted the ramp and floor of my cargo trailer with Behr Premium DeckOver (100% acrylic resin with ceramic microspheres) available at Home Depot. It gives a great non-skid surface and can be tinted to any color. It's not so rough that you can't walk on it with bare feet. I can't speak to the long term wear characteristics yet.
