Old 4-bolt to new 2-bolt toilet upgrade question...

Need to replace current with new toilet. Been told cheap 4 to 2 bolt adapters are junk and good ones are not cheap. I have replaced and repaired bad flanges in fixed houses. Seems it should be possible to install a new $10 flange or new toilet seal with integrated flange (like for flange-too-low situations).

An I missing something here? Floor where toilet sits is wood so a new flange should be easy to secure.

Thanks!

99% of the time you can simply rotate the floor flange.

Plastic toilet? My new one was, and I just drilled two holes through the base to match the old floor flange. Did use a couple SS flat washers for that fresh finished look.

2 bolts of the old 4 bolt should be in same location on floor flange as new 2 bolt toilet

Just remove old bolts and reset new toilet with new floor gasket using existing floor flange and new T-bolts

Provided the flange centerline is far enough away from wall to accommodate new toilet dimensions
Is it time for your medication or mine?
