Removing front CRT TV from Tiffin Open Road

Hi! I just bought a used 2008 Allegro Open Road.

I'd like to replace both CRT TVs with new smart TVs.

I think I can figure out how to remove the bedroom TV, but the front one has me flumoxed.

I don't see any screws holding the wooden bezel to the upholstered overhead cabinet / bulkhead.

Is that bezel just mounted with friction fittings like an automotive dash? Can I just pry it off? That doesn't seem like enough strength to hold that big TV. Or maybe the TV is secured inside the cabinet?

How can I get that old TV out?

Thanks much,
Chip

It was heavy alright! But I put the new TV box and styrofoam in the floor so I didn't have to hodl it for as great a distance -- no pains at all ๐Ÿ™‚
Now to decide how to mount the new one ๐Ÿ™‚

I finally got it out! Once I got the stripped screws out, the woden bezel / frame slid out.
That left me with a TV held into the cabinet by 2 long wood screws, drilled through the upper corners of the TV chassis. No fancy mounts needed back then -- just 2 big screws ๐Ÿ™‚

that and a board in front of it is all that was holding mine. just lift over the little board and pull out.

Well, I took the 2 screws out on the passenger side but the 2 on the driver's side were stripped -- so I don't yet know what's back there. But ... with those 2 out, I was able to pull the passenger side of the wooden frame / bezel away from the TV and shine a light down that side. I don't see anything that's actually holding the TV in the cabinet. I'm sure there has to be - I don't think that frame alone would be enough, but maybe I'm wrong. The TV still feels very solidly mounted even with half the frame pulled away. I'll be back in there once I buy some stripped screw extractors...

this might help: from an old post: BCooke has it right. Open the left and right side compartments flanking the TV. The screws in question are close to the front frame of those compartments and can be hard to see without putting your head part way into the compartments. Although the screws are quite long, they only need to be backed out about 3/4" and the wood frame around the TV can be pulled out. the remote sensor receiver has a plug that easily separates. Once the frame is removed, a flashlight will show you the screws holding the TV to the wood frame behind the TV. There should be 2 screws on each side at the bottom, and one each side near the top. Use caution as the flat screen is heavier than it appears, and the wires may need to be disconnected before you can set it down on the dash. A helper is quite useful.

Once the front CRT is free to lower, hire 2 high school line backers to
lower it down. Worked for me.
