5er Tires

My 03 Kountry Star has the terrific G-rated 16" tires. Now almost 14 years old and still looking good, I'm considering replacing them.
I've read a lot about Chinese made goodyears and the lack of good options.
I need advice. I don't really want to go up to 17.5" wheels/tires. Any thoughts?

Totally agree! Have had 4 sets of GY tires one E two G and one H all US Made. Not even a flat!

New MS on order will also have GY H tires. I will run those 6-8 years.

As the old saying goes, YMMV. Every RV tire failure I've ever had has been on Goodyear tires. Marathons on my 1996 Jayco Designer 3030RKSS - tread separation in 1999 with >$2000 damage. G614 RSTs on my 2004 DRV Mobile Suites 36RE3 - 2 failed with tread separations in 2007, the second with >$2500 damage. I've replaced Goodyears with Michelins (XPS Rib on 2000 Jayco Designer XL 3610RLTS, XTAs on 2004 MS 36RE3) and never had a hint of a problem with the Michelins.

Our current 2014.5 Mobile Suites came with the Goodyear G114s. With my track record with Goodyears, I invested in a TST 507 TPMS and have my fingers and toes crossed.....

Not trying to start anything, just trying to understand your situation. Your 2005 KS came with the 614's. Did you purchase the KS new and were these the OEM tires?

Exactly, that was what I was wondering, if he's done the same thing as the OP, tires should have been replace quite some time ago, no matter how "good" they look.

What was the manufacture date on the GY's if you don't mind me asking? I've had mine (manufacture date 37th week of 2010), and they've done a great job...but I believe the Sailuns are also a good choice...Just curious as to how old your G614's were. It's been rare to hear an issue with them since manufacture dates of 07-08 and up.

WOW:E....Almost 14 years old!!!!! You've had them almost 3X the years one would normally put on 5er tires, no matter how good they look...most replace after 5 years...You're a testament to just how good these tires are if you've run them for FOURTEEN years!!

The GY G614's are made in the United States as I stated in an above post....Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fixe it...It's obvious you don't need 17.5" tires and rims...stay with what has worked for you...The GY G614's are a very good tire...you also have the option of looking at the Sailun S637 tires....but with you pretty much coming on here and telling us that you've run G614's for 14 years....I'd go with what has worked for you....

They've been manufactured in the United States, (mine in Kansas), for years...You're thinking of the GY Marathons.

How old were the G614's with all the problems? When you replaced the G rated 614's with an E rated Michelin, you lost quite a bit in weight carrying tires, from 3750# per tire, to 3042# per tire...The RIBS are great, but only in the right application, (ie, 6,000# rated axles). It appears you got back on the right track with the Sailuns. You need G rated tires all the way around your 5er if you have 7,000# weight rated axles.
