8 on 6.5 Steel Wheel for 17.5 tires for 1/2 inch Lugs ?

.........The Sailun 17.5 tires are available at ~$200 apiece ! But , I can't find a conventional steel wheel with 8 on 6.5 lug spacing , for 1/2 inch studs to fit my 7k axles ! Every website I have seen lists the heavy steel wheels that are made to fit either lug centric 9/16's or 5/8's studs-OR- the same steel wheel which is Hub Centric with the same two stud sizes .
..........Maybe the 8 on 6.5 wheels for 1/2 inch studs are Unavailable due to the 4805 lb. wheel rating , I'm not sure ! Anybody done any research on this issue ? , thanks , jf

.............Dexter ! I'll have to check the socket size , tomorrow to make sure . It's either 13/16's or 3/4 . . jf

I stand corrected. Dexter does show a 7k hub with 1/2" studs.

If you pay attention you can learn something new almost every day.

AGREED they used to have problems. Since around mid 07 they changed the tire construction and since they have become one of the most trouble free tires out there. So don't let OLD stories sway your decision. I ran two sets of GY "G"'s for many thousands of miles without even a flat. Sailun's have a good reputation so far but if it matters they are chinese made. Any 17.5" "H" rated tire will be TOO MUCH for your RV.

You should be going with GY "G" or SAilun "G" in 16" they will both provide more capacity then you need!

Maybe that's because hardly anyone uses 17.5's

Maybe it's because the ones that dumperd 16" GY614G tires just don't have tire problems anymore.

So why are you going to 17.5 rims, 16" LRG will cover your needs. Chris

..........No decision made yet ! I'm just collecting info currently ! The minimum weight ratings for 17.5's is significantly greater , so a plain 17.5 steel wheel with a quality tire as the Sailun brand appears to be is worth a look !

I would be very leary of any change in offset as it could put more stress on the wheel bearings.
