bad shower design

We have a 13 Blackwood by redwood and it has a 3 pc shower glass door slider. The bottom frame/track has 3 channels and sits on the plastic shower base....the channels has several slots in it to get the water to drain back to shower base but on each end the water has no where to go except out the tiny gap between the end of the track and the shower base....I think I'm going to drill a small hole in the track on the ends to let the water drain back to the shower base and caulk each end where track meets shower wall. What so you all think?

I have a 3 piece shower door setup as well. My shower had apparently been caulked after a 3 martini lunch at the factory, and leaked into my basement like Niagara Falls. I had to remove all the factory-applied caulk (pulled it out with two fingers - it offered no resistance), then re-do the entire shower stall with 100% silicone. I'm going to have to take a close look at the track on the bottom of the door. Maybe I'll do what PedroNW did.

I took a half round file to the rectangular drain holes in the 3 groove track, they were about an 1/8 inch from the bottom, it drains much better now. We have a Columbus with the same 3 door shower, ours had not been sealed properly, so I had to do that too, make sure the ends are sealed. Our dealer is 100 + miles away as well, I sometimes regret buying so far away

Jay, We also have a Blackwood with the large shower and 3 piece door. I believe my shower door is installed backwards, since the overlap faces the spray. Even with the squeegee between the sections water still escapes. For a quick fix on our first time out, we bought a spring tension shower rod and a cheap clear curtain. We have decided that we really like this setup because no water even hits the door and there are never any water spots to clean. The curtain is not noticeable when the curtain is slid back and the doors are open.

Sounds like a good common sense fix to me. I'm like you if the dealer were at at the end of my block I'd still fix it myself. I like things done right. Cheers...

Jay, it seems like a good fix, as long as you can tell where and why the water is leaking.

Most new rvs have these minor problems that need some attention. My dealer is not close either, so it is easier, and cheaper to make small repairs myself.
