Butyl tape Width to reseal windows on my Outback 5er?

When the weather warms up this spring, I plan to take several windows out and reseal them with butyl tape. My 5er is a 2006 Outback. If anyone has done this on a similar RV, what width butyl tape did you use and did you need to trim any off?

I rebed all my windows and much prefer the black 1" butyl tape. It has a little more stiffness and is much easier to apply evenly.

Many thanks for the replies. I had tried a search and never could find anyone telling the width they used. I know I can take one out and check it but I wanted to buy a roll and be ready when it warms up enouth.

I've used 3/4" that I bought from Fastenall when I removed the driver side window to install a residential refrigerator in my 2008 Allegro Bus.

Curious ,why not just proflex the exterior and be donre. mine is 8 yrs young ,dual pane, a little touch up thats it.

I've only seen 3/4" ish strips, but in truth I've never looked for any other. Needs to be at least as wide as the flange your working with. Better to cut away excess imo so that you know you've got product filling the area you're resealing.

Not familiar with your rig but...most I know, myself included, use a 3/4 inch roll of tape. I think it is 1/8 thick. It does come in 1 inch wide as well. Off with the old, clean everything, on with the new, tighten frame, trim any excess, chalk around the frame. At least that is what I do!
