I'm looking for suggestions for how to carry 2 adult bicycles with our 5er. What has worked for you? Pictures will help, please.

Ipxguy, that's the first one that I have seen that is also used in conjunction with a pinbox cover/shroud. Nicely done!

We've just been dragging the bikes inside and piling them up on the dinette table w/ ground cloths (aka Neat Sheet which isn't made any more) between them:

thanks, took several on/off/more trimming before it fit just right but the results were worth it.

After many diffrent ways of bring the bikes we found that folding bikes worked best. We had bike racks on the trailer , carry all on the trailer and the bikes stuffed in the bed of the truck, the folding bikes fit well either in the back seat of the truck or in the trailer. have them in the carry bags so they dont damage the truck or trailer

We installed a bike rack from Arkiva last summer. It mounts on the pin box very nicely. The steel components are beefy and well designed. All holes are pre-drilled and installation is easy. I am very happy with all aspects of this product. They have a website but I preferred to contact them by phone to make sure that I ordered exactly what I wanted and needed. This worked perfectly for me. The company is located in Quebec Canada. This product is well worth the price but is not inexpensive.

I am lazy, so I got one of these:

Swagman

It is literally a 2 minute job to put on or take off the bikes. Slick.

Tried one of the cheap ladder racks. Hard to tie down and keep from moving.

I use same-quick load and unload.

I also use the Swagman X2C two bike carrier. It works well for me, easy to install and holds the bikes in place. I have not had any damage to the bike during transport.

I did a lot of looking and finally settled on a rear bike rack. I had a metal shop build and attach the hitch to the frame and bumper. Used the frame as I was concerned about the bumper not being able to handle the weight and movement. I bought a bike rack from 1up USA. It was pricey but it is simple to mount in the receiver and very simple to place the bikes in the rack. The setup is such that no one is going to be able to steal the hitch or the bikes without considerable know how and effort. The rack is extremely strong all USA built...I highly recommend it. Like I said its not cheap but I am still working and could afford it. I've seen too many bikes bouncing around on the back of trailers and wanted something high quality and dependable. I don't have a current picture as everything is in storage but there are utube videos showing the rack and how it installs....

Best of luck in your search......

We too use a Swagman on the rear of our 5th wheel in a 2" receiver. I put a sock over each hold down to help with the finish on our Trek Rumblefish and Lush.

I actually carry my bike INSIDE my truck. It just barely fits in front of the back seat. I have to loosen the handlebar and position it in parallel with the frame, but that only means loosening one bolt. I also remove the two pedals to make the fit easier. It's really not that much effort. Of course, this only works with one bike.

A side benefit of doing this is the bike is out of the weather when I travel.

We had a Swagman but found it destroyed the top tubes on our bikes and was very slow for mounting/dismounting the bikes.

Now we have Kuat NV Bike Rack and love it. Lots of pics on the review I wrote here:
