CJ2 in a Toy Hauler

I am thinking of taking the old jeep along. It is a very old friend, it is 10 years older than me and I have been living with it since 1974.

It is about the same size as a four place side by side, but a little heavy.

59" wide, 123" long, 72" high. Weight is about 2300#

Would most 5er toy haulers hold a good weight on the pin with the extra 700 pounds or so back in the garage?

Would most ramps hold the weight?

Anyone dragging a CJ2 or 3 in back?

Thanks.

Not all ramps are created equal.

Most ramps I've seen start bowing noticeably when a single axle weight starts exceeding 1,000 lbs. I saw one permanently bend with just 1,500 lbs. of single axle weight.

Note, I'm not talking about the total weight of the vehicle, just the amount of weight applied by each axle. Or, in the case of a motorcycle, the weight applied by each tire.

Just check the numbers, not all toy haulers can haul it but most should be able to.

Any wide body 5er toyhauler will haul that easy.
My sandrail is 2800lbs.
I put my sandrail and 2 quads in my 5er. Each quad weighs 400lbs.

Ramp should be just fine.

Pin weight on a 5er will be plenty.
My pin weight when I am fully loaded is 3600lbs.

I would double check the weight specs of your Toy-hauler first. Ours is rated for 3,500 in the back but not sure I would put that much in the back. The ramps I would expect for them not to hold up. Might be better safe then sorry and put down a couple of extra wood ramps to support the weight for loading and unloading.
