I use an X5 with a Curt Q20 all on the B&W turnover. I needed a 20K hitch and the B&W Companion was only rated at 18K. It solved my problem nicely, and leaves the bed empty when removed. I had to shim the bottom of the X5 to keep it from rocking, but now it doesn't move at all.

It was the only option we could find at the time to install our Reese R16 Slider in our new 2013 RAM 3500 with a B&W turnover ball .

We towed with it all last summer and it worked great. I was concerned there might be to much play and slop but it was rock solid. I did not need to use any shims... it fit perfectly with no play or rocking.

I have a spray in bed liner... it rests firmly on the bed and did not leave any marks at all where it contacts the bed.

I think the 105 lb weight is the shipping weight that includes all the packaging. I can remove it by myself and does not feel like it weighs over 100 lbs.

It is built extremely well... Being able to remove it from the bed leaving no rails is great.

We are towing a Cedar Creek 34RLSA... GVWR is 14K and our pin weight is just shy of 3000 lbs.

Reese now builds an adapter for the new Rams to use the conventional hitches ,it actually sits just slightly off the bed so there is no worry about messing up a bed liner.

Its very well built, shipping weight was around 90 lbs, and locks down very solid, with no play. Like your adapter very easy to remove for a clean bed without rails.

I had a B&W Companion that I used in my 2012 GMC 3500 single rear wheel. We had some chucking problems mainly because of the weight of our fifth wheel so I sold the Companion and bought a Trailer Saver BD3 air ride hitch. To make it work with the Turnover ball I bought an X5. It is heavy at 105 lbs and very well built (made in USA). I only used it once for a test run for a few miles trying out the new hitch. The X5 worked just fine. I did have a bit of rocking backing and forth with it but put some shims under one of the rails. That may not have been the fault of the X5. Not sure.

We decided the real cure for our problem was a dually so I have a new GMC on order and decided to return the X5 as I will use a different system with the new truck. The one downside to the X5 was the cross members are raised somewhat and required me to raise the new hitch to higher level, throwing off the level of my trailer a bit. That may not be a factor on regular hitches. The BD3's platform for the air bags hit the cross members so had no choice but to raise it.
