Since there does not currently seem to be a Jayco owners forum, Moderator Frank has graciously allowed this thread. It will be for discussing Jayco related questions and comments. Anything not Jayco related will be deleted. Sounds more than fair to me. Thank-you Frank!

I almost forgot my second question. We did not get the fantastic fan in the kitchen ( bad move ) I am going to add a remote controlled Maxx fan. I have already checked and there is some wiring up there. Does anyone know if it is hot or do I need to connect it somewhere and is it switched?
Thanks again,

That is where I assumed I would need to put it. We are removing the drawers under the TV and installing it there. Are there any special things I need to know before I get started? Did you install a drain pan under yours? We should be picking ours up next Saturday.
Thanks for all your help,
Chris

We put the vented washer/dryer combo in ours. We removed it from our old Designer. The vent is installed on the side, near the front cap on the awning side. A picture would help but I do not have one handy right now. I installed my self in the old Designer but did not on this one. I took it up to my dealer and they installed once ours came in.

I have a question for all of you 35 RLTS owners....who has added a vented washer dryer combo after purchase? We bought ours in October and are now deciding that we want the Splendid vented combo. I dont know where to run the vent. Where does Jayco run the vent when they are factory installed or do they use ventless combos? ANy help is greatly appreciated.

Good evening all

I do bump it back about an inch from the stops and it puts a little more tension on the fabric but i think it's still too saggy. Looks like I may be making the trip to the dealer to see if any type of adjustment can be made..Thanks!!!

I agree... the shocks are only there to kick out the awning at the top. Once you are down at full extension the motor will keep going and roll it back up the opposite direction. As loydt said, just back it up a little, you'll be fine.

If you roll it out too far, it will sag some in the middle. Once you get it all the way out, bump the switch back a time or two to get it as tight as you like it.

Hello everyone,

I think I may have an issue with my electric awning. The awning fabric is somewhat loose after opening it up. I have some pics of it when it was brand new and the fabric appears really tight looking. Not so any more. I am wondering if maybe the gas shocks have gotten weak and need replacing. I had the fabric replaced about 6 months after taking delivery due to a hole in the original fabric. I can also pick up on the end of the awning very easily without much resistance. Dealer says the shocks rarely go bad and said I'd need to bring it in for a check. Thought I'd ask you guys if you've had similar issues before making a 1-1/2 hr trip to the dealer.

Thanks a lot.

It's a shame that some dealers resort to this tactic. We purchased our through RV Direct for significant savings. While we got the good deal I wouldn't let them touch my 5vr with a ten-foot pole.

We did some research on our local dealers and found Triangle RV up in Frederick Md., a 50 mile drive, and asked them if they would perform my warranty service. Their answer was an immediate yes. What a relief. Guess who also got my accident repair worth $7K ?

Their answer to me was.... We didn't get your business last time but we know where you will stop first next time :C

Interesting note though, on the dealer's wall was a letter from Forest River explaining something that roughly stated that Forest River would not interfere with dealers that refuse service due to the fact that they were not the selling dealer. :h We do love our Jayco :B

talking with dealer 2, they assured me that I would get the best "buying Experience" with them even though their price was high, and warned me if I bought elsewhere after getting a quote from them it would go in there computer to refuse me service.

A dealer did that to me and I told him how do you know I just gave you my real name, and if and when I come back for service what makes you so sure I will give "the computer" my real name.

Lastly I said, I don't do business with dealers that play games - BYE!

sirdrakejr is right. I would get a class A... I'm sure you can find one up to your standards on their lot that's a trade in.

I don't want to take advantage of your misfortune, but if possible, could I have copies of the pictures. I would like to see the structure underneath for issues that I think I maybe having with my pinbox. PM me and I'll give you my e-mail address.

Again I'm very sorry. Keep a close eye on the repairs. I wouldn't let them cover anything prior to your inspection to verify craftsmanship. THEY owe YOU for this incident. There aren't enough hoops they can jump through to make this right.

BTW, pass on a link to the bedsaver if they are going to use a truck to move 5th wheels around. My dealer only uses a forklift with a reciever. The landing gear never has to go up and if it did fall, which is not really possible, the landing gear is still down.

Make them give you a "loaner" for the PLANNED trip. Even a MH for that time. They made the error and it should NOT cost you due to their negligence. THEY can charge it all back to THEIR insurance coverage.

I'd be tempted to take it somewhere else to have it fixed. Since it's their dime, it'll be the cheapest fix they can manage.

Cruz - 4 weeks! I think they need to readjust and move you to the top of the list. Can't imagine any part needing that much lead-time in the current market. Except of course for custom components

Well, found out there's more damage then they let on. Went and took some pictures on Sunday, just to cover my butt!! Frame appears to be just fine ... I think! I would imagine it would take more than a drop like this to hurt it ???
The truck was hooked up at an angle ,,,
The back corner of the truck side rail broke thru the fiberglass cap on the drivers side and took out a piece of horizontal aluminum framing inside. It's not a structural piece ... but still hurts lookin' at it.
Then all three panels on the underside will need to be replaced. This is where the other side rail hit and took most of the weight of the trailer.
As far as I can tell, nothing inside the fiver was damaged ... slides work fine, etc.

Trying to figure out what my options are here. Parts for repair are about 4 weeks out and I have a trip planned the first week of April! Dealer said they can temporarily patch it up, but it will look like******... and I don't want to do any further damage.

I'm just a little "tee'd" off here. !! :M
