Ebay to sell 5th wheel

Have any of you ever used eBay to sell or buy a 5th wheel? We need to downsize due to health issues. We advertised our 5th wheel on Craig's list and RV Trader, but we were thinking of other places to advertise.

Does anyone have any experiences with eBay and RVs?

Thanks!

I'm not a huge fan of evil-Bay, though I loved it 15 years ago, when it was actually seller-friendly. EBay will give you a longer reach than CL, but you pay fees. No matter where you sell it, you have to be aware of scams. I'm also not a PayPal fan, as I was a seller on eBay and PP gives sellers almost zero protection from bad transactions. PP =will= allow funding off credit cards, including hacked or fake cards, and =will= leave the seller on the hook. My original PP account was summarily closed and, to this day, their legal department says that I must have a court order to find out why, even though it was MY BOSS who was scammed for nearly $50k. If you do use EB, try and get the potential buyers to call you and you can talk to them directly and spell out =your= terms, not EB's. I was in the luxury goods business for 15 years and our average sale was about the same as a decent RV, so I do know some of what I'm talking about.

I bought my last 5er on e-bay but it was close enough for me to go see it first. I also have sold many classic cars on e-bay also, several in other country's. I always use Paypal for deposit and bank transfer for balance.

Will ebay let you specify cash payment? I thought they had switched over to "paypal only". Paypal is not foolproof, and when it comes to that much money I'd rather have cash in hand. You folks who've done this, how did you handle it?

Guess you need help with your homework..:R

Internet 101: "Google is your friend"..:W

Google: "Accepted payments policy - eBay".

Read options under, "Payment Options for Most Listings"
Allowed & Restricted.

You will find two pertinent items:

1. Although "Restricted", there *are* categories allowing bank-to-bank transfers, checks, money orders and on-line payment services. Click on that statement.
(IMO - you can't do any better than bank-to-bank transfers for safety and security!)

Go to those categories (under "Motors") = Motors > Other vehicles & trailers.

Also, under the *Allowed* methods section:
"If you offer payment upon pickup, you may include this statement in your listing:
'Contact me for payment methods to pay or pickup'."

*If* you find something different....OUTSTANDING!
*You* will have that info at *your* fingertips - rather than second-hand from an Internet forum!..
(Can't do any better than that either!)..:C

We used Ebay Classified to sell our TT locally. Rv Trader did not work nor did Craigslist.

Maybe not worldwide, but I sold a trailer to a couple 2400 miles away via Ebay. They traveled from Oregon to Ohio, checked it out and bought it.

I bought my present rig a Montana 3475 on E Bay. It has been the best purchase I have ever made. After winning the bid. I drove to the sellers location to finalize the deal. It seemed to good to be true so I was afraid of a scam of some sort. All went well though.

Do you mean that you bid on it without seeing it in person? Braver than I!

You can search only vehicles up to any distance from you

I have never actually sold a RV on eBay (tried a couple of times) but I have bought and sold watercraft
