EZPASS NH overcharges

I want to place others on notice that there is and has been a glitch in New Hampshire's EZPASS system.

I received my statement and was charged as a class 7 vehicle. My correct designation when towing my 5'er would be class 3. According to NH DOT web page rate calculator, class 3 is 4 axels with single rear wheels, class 7 is 4 axels with dual rear wheels.

My rv is a 2 axel,38 ft. fiver, GVWR 16540. My tow vehicle is a single rear wheel Ford F350 pickup. As such, I should be charged at class 3 rates.

A few days prior, I towed my daughter's 2 axel livestock trailer through those same toll plazas and was charged the correct amount. Obviously, the system has a problem with large trailers in tow.

Memorial Weekend was our first trip through NH toll plazas this year and we were again over charged. Last year, every time I towed the fiver through the toll plazas I was overcharged. This resulted in multiple calls and a trip to the EZPASS office.

My BIL has a similar setup and went camping last weekend. He checked his statement online and sure enough, he was overcharged as well.

If you have a single wheel tow vehicle and use EZPASS in New Hampshire check your statements!

Mods if this post belongs elsewhere, please move.

Edit: NH EZPass has refunded the overcharges. It will be interesting to see if they resolved the issue or just issued a refund.

now I have to check mine also, was just up north last weekend. Certainly does seem that NH has a lot of toll plaza's on route 16!
