Again thanks for everyoneโ€™s help in making my decision

"You won't find someone on here recommending you get a sub-$500 basic Reese hitch, even though there are countless rigs being towed all across the USA with those."

True and many rigs that look like this doing so.

By saying I didn't trust dealer, was a bad way of putting it. I trust my dealer but I also think they tend to lead you in the direction of what they have in stock or the brand they tend to sell, which may not be the best fit, if that makes sense.

Thanks,
Rick

I follow you completely and don't entirely disagree with your position. But I'm sure they also leaned you in the direction of the RV brand(s) they carry. And there are some folks on here that will vehemently demand that you get a B & W, while there are those that will suggest you need to get an Andersen. There's no middle ground, that's for sure. You won't find someone on here recommending you get a sub-$500 basic Reese hitch, even though there are countless rigs being towed all across the USA with those.

This is the latest innovation and looks to be very promising. The cost is a little high but is within reason if one considers the cost of Trail Air and slider. The reviews on this hitch are very good as well....

Sorry, but the above statement made me chuckle.
"I don't trust the dealer that I'm giving tens of thousands of dollars to and who I'll be taking my rig back to for warranty work, so let me put this question out there for the Internet world of unknown strangers to get advice..."
Dealer = recipient of your business, someone you have face-to-face contact with
Internet forum members = fake user names, faceless, will almost always steer you in the direction of their fandom

Not saying that the people on this forum aren't smart folks who know what they're talking about...but not saying they are either :W

My trailer rides on an air hitch too, but it is not in the truck when I unhitch. It stays with the trailer.

Did the truck come with a gooseneck ball in the bed. I have the Champion adapter and love it.

I need to edit my suggestion, I see your trailer comes standard with a RotoFlex pin box to reduce chucking forces. I now suggest the TrailerSaver BD3 to help with the bouncing forces. If you want to clamp that trailer directly to the frame of your truck then I suggest the Companion.

New truck and new trailer. Why not get a hitch that protects both from jarring forces which there will be plenty? A comfortable tow is a bonus. TrailerSaver TS3. Price and weight are downsides but with the money you have just put out upgrading to the best hitch would be negligible. Wouldn't hurt to check out their website and YouTube tows.
