We have a 2007 Jayceo Designer. The unit is in great shape and looks like new. The unit has gel coat except for the front cap. I wax it twice a year with nuFinish , but I s still dull. I saw a Detailing Service do the neighbors unit and the cap looked like new. Of course they wouldn’t tell me the product name. Anybody have an idea what the product might be. He just used a small hand cloth and wiped the liquid on
Thanks Just m.

Really? You tried them ALL?

Care to list all the ones you tried?

Don't understand why someone would put floor wax on fiberglass. Floorwax/sealer is for floors. Floorwax has nothing to protect against UV. Might look fine for the short term but then what? What does it take to strip it off when it starts to yellow & flake?

We really don't need to start this conversation again do we?
Here are over 1000 posts about using Zep as a finish on the RV.Zep posts

Did the Zep thing with all the required prep work. Took me a couple days. It looked good for a few months...then it started to flake off. Had a heck of a time getting it off. Had both caps painted then traded it off.

I opted for the PoliGlow and was very happy with the result...haven't figured out Flickr to post pictures since Photobucket wants a fee.

I seen a product called F-11. They claim this will make whatever you use it on look like new and only have to be applied just once a year to keep a nice deep shine. Not sure if this is what they used, but it sound like the same thing. They advertise you only have to use a small amount and is wiped on.

Veebyes. Nice idea. I have bragged and with will about the poli glow I have used for a few years. However I did comment here I think last spring about a very faded brown gel on a 2014 fifth. It had become tan on the drivers side while the opposite side was like new and very brown. He had done the left rear using poli glow with the company giving him instructions. He has arrived this month and the result was it still is a light tan. I am sure he is disappointed and soon I will visit him. We talked a lot about his problem at that time. He also had the white roof treatment done but it needed more work in February and again last week. He doesn't seem to have any good luck.

Whatever is done to finish off the work is in the preparation. A good pure wax does a good job of protection. It does a lousy job of cleaning up all the chalking.

10 years old & even with 6 months each year spent indoors our front cap decals were a mess. I happen to have a spare "Alpenlite" cap decal but thought, why should I spend money applying it & advertising a defunct company? Why spend money to act as a billboard for any company really?

For less than $200 I removed the old decal, cleaned & restored the whole front cap to near new shine & had a sign maker print & helped install a truly one of a kind front cap decal.

Nobody else can have this one. I took the picture. It was not found on the internet somewhere. Used the highest quality material to print it on.

Just another option when deciding on what to do about the front cap.

All the use this and that, I tried them all & shine lasted for a few weeks and back to faded. Jayco had major fading issues and there where a lot of discussions on how to correct. Search here https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/ Why 1k to paint? I was told the by the custom painter that did mine the $$ was in the quality of the clear coat up too a self healing clear coat for show vehicles. No decals because out of business? Why advertise them, get a graphics place to make you some type scene for the cap.

I'd like to know where people are getting caps painted for $1K+/-. The places I've checked are around $2K. I can buy a new lighter colored cap that won't fade for $985 from the MFG. Install is simple with for a couple guys.

Mine was painted at Ollies Fiberglass Repair, 19510 21st Ave West
Lynnwood, WA 98036

Thanks for the tip.
200 miles from my house. Definitely worth a check.

Having been involved with painting a boat I don't see where the expense is in doing a front cap. You thoroughly clean it, you sand it, you primer it, wet sand, a couple coats of paint, couple coats of clearcoat & done.

Not like parts have to be removed or there is extensive taping to be done like going around windows etc.

The two places I got bids from do RV work. One place was strictly RV repair.
Both wanted to remove all the caulking and trim, sand paint, replace trim and caulk.
I'm 250 miles from the MFG and could drive over and get a new cap and do it myself cheaper.
Ironically I was talking to a sales/rep at the local RV show about my faded cap, since they sold the same product. He too says I know guys that get them painted for $1K+/-. Of course he didn't remember where off hand.

4 RV's ago I had a 1997 Holiday Rambler 33'.. I had the front AND back caps painted, and cleared for just about $1,000.00 total. . .BUT that was back in 2005 or so, and the shop owed me a favor ! !
