If you get the chance, see if you can camp with some of the folks here in person. It was kind of a leap of faith for my family, but we joined up with a rally with the Toy Hauler forum in 2004. This coming November we'll get together again with most of the same folks for our 13th annual trip, not to mention all the smaller group trips in-between. We've met some of our best friends by camping with "strangers from the internet" from this forum.

When we started camping with folks from RV.NET our kids were all little. And now our youngest is leaving for college and our nest will be empty. We'll still camp and ride with the friends we made here though.

Welcome! Yes, there are lots of good folks here. Most just want to be helpful. A few are snarky from time to time but that's the way of the Internet. And yes, sometimes there is bad advice. But that's also the way of the Internet.

Lotta fun and picking on one another here too. I mean everyone's RV and truck is better than everyone else's right? LOL Like the last poster, we too were in same situation. Lot of good sound advice and suggestions across the US and Canada. Shoot, some seasoned RVers still ask questions.

Welcome aboard.

I started here 13 years ago. Did not know anything about an RV. I studied this site for hours. Today I'm very confident. I've also learned the best products to get for very purposes example Rotochocks. To bad someone didn't keep that product in production. Yes there is some advice that's not solid so just sift through the posts. Most is very solid. Glad to have you on the forum.

But remember there can be bad advise and opinions on here too - been a regular for 7 years and certain topics bring out a bias that a person can have. Just like the real world except you probably know the opinions of your friends you would not trust.

Before posting try searching for the topic. It's probably already been discussed. Of course, it's always fun to have responses to a post but searching will get you info much faster.
