Goodyear tire pre-mature blowouts/tread seperation

Can anyone with a Goodyear tire blowout/tread separation experience offer assistance on getting service and re-imbursement from Goodyear for tire replacement and damage to my rig? The tires on my 2011 Jayco are not dry rotted and have plenty of tread life remaining. I have only about 4,000 miles total on the tires over the life of the rig

Thanks in advance.

Good future plan: No more GY tires..;)

Use the forum search feature for all the info you need on: tires, replacement of GY tires, tire brands, tire failures, GY Marathons (and other GY tire lines)..:W

A couple years ago Goodyear opened a new tire plant in China with GY employees onsite to QC materials and build process. Likewise it seems there are getting to be far fewer Marathon posts with trouble.

Just a comment. I am looking to replace the tires on my 2004 Itasca Sunova 35N. I have seen some comments about Michelins. I just had to put in my 2 cents. FWIW. They are ten years old, have about 32K miles on them. Michelin 245/70 19.5 XRV. Been all across the USA, both hot desert and through ice and snow towing at times a trailer and others a car over good roads and bad (some really bad!). No problems. I never drive the MH over 65. I have always run Michelins on my cars and never had a problem with any of them (and my Mercedes did not get driven at 65, any time, usually more like 75-80+ when I could get away with it.) Very Good tires. Of course I am pushing my luck with these, that's why I am replacing them.

I'm going to tell all my buddies now...a new truck isn't in the future, (the wife knows this too:))....I'm going to be letting you down because, I got TWO years, then I'm 66 (well, as of July 22nd., 2016), so getting all our ducks in a row at this time, and a new truck ain't in the picture...really...NOW, possiby a new 5er...but that may or may not happen...when my dealership gave me the Chrysler Max Care extended Warranty of 7yrs/100,000 miles with zero deductible, that kinda sealed it for me and I got enough truck to handle anything I'll ever tow....

not going to buy a new one...really.....no lie...guarantee it:)

I went through the entire deal with Goodyear on a blowout of a G614. They paid $6,000 for our claim.
However, those who have filed claims need to remember that they signed a DISCLAIMER letter before they got the check. Nothing to do with warranty or being a nice manufacturer -- it was just simply business. Get the tire, pay the claim and admit no liability.
What a great company.

I now ride on Michelins. Tow Vehicle and Trailer.

bigdon68

I won't nock the Michelins I run them along with BFG's on my vehicles. GY took care of you and now you went to another company that makes quality tires but the fact is if you have a problem you will have a claim on your insurance.

I will stick with GY 4 sets many miles not even a flat.

Since 07 the GY G's have been very trouble free.

I have Michelins on my pax vehicles but my concern with their trailer 17.5s would be their speed rating, 62mph vs Goodyear's 75mph. Not that I tow at 75mph, very seldom over 65mph.
