Wise choice for your heavy trailer with as in your earlier post says 11800 lb on the axles.

Loads on trailers tires constantly change especially in strong side winds traveling down the road.
One tire blog showed loads on tires on the leeward side in a 35 mph side wind, could grow as much as 30 percent higher than the static load.

We have the Westlake tires. They look to be quite beefy, however, I ran the side wall around a curb and seem to have damaged the side wall, a slight bubble has formed. I am replacing all of mine with Sailun tires. The tire shop was surprised about the damage to the Westlake tires. They are popular with the contractors around here.

E tires I would go with Me Again's recommendations.

Track record is *not* great - before or after '07 - research them where heavy trailers "live" - like on the SKPs forums.

GY *does* pay for repairs to damage done to your trailer..:C

Good reputation on that one - as it apparently happens often (especially with Marathons).

Does GY pay for your down time?..:D

EZ - solution:
Look for tires with a rep for *not* causing damage!..:S

I was NOT talking about Marathons. I stand by my statement. I have personally ran two sets of GY G's many thousands of miles without even a flat. I went to GY H's in 2012 they have been trouble free also.

No tire is foolproof. Even 17.5 LRH tires are known to fail once in a while. If one does not have a TPMS you do not know if it was a run flat problem or sudden failure! Except in the case of hearing a load boom!! Chris

Say what? The tires I listed above are all Load Range G tires, rated to 3750 each.

Chris

I know I should have been more clear. I should have said "if buying E tires I would go with Me Again's recommendations" better? :B

He asked for a tire with over 3500 lbs capacity in 16", therefore there is no heavy duty(which he also asked for) E rated tire available. Chris

In know. It was a general statement.

Are you saying you went from a G to an E tire on the same RV? Or did the RV originally come with E's?

I went from the factory 16 GY G's on our MS after 5 years and zero problems to GY H's and 17.5" Alcoa wheels from trailertiresandwheels.com. they were shipped to me mounted and properly balanced. Call Scott he is great to deal with.

Sold the tires, wheels and spare for $1,000 on CL.

So tell us more about the Rib that failed. How old and how many miles? Do you have a TPMS? Was is a run flat failure or a sudden failure? Inquiring minds want to know! Chris
