height spacer for Hensley TS3 hitch?

Does anyone use a 2" or 3" spacer to raise their Hensley Trailer Saver TS3, truck is an '02 F-250 that has 18" from floor to bed rails. Hensley said you need 2" spacers @ $130.....makes no sense to me why they wouldn't have made the hitch taller to fit a standard p/u bed. I know they say it's 14" tall with the bags collapsed, anyone have any "real life" info or measurements, thanks.........Dave

I also have the 2" riser. Needed it when Chev went and raised the bed. They made it 2" deeper from 2007 to 2011. No way was that going to work. Had the welder's at work make them. cost me around $12.

I have an F-450 with the Hensley TS3 with a 2" riser. It measures about 17-7/8" to the top of the hinged head with head sitting level. The air bags have about 60 lbs in them and the RV is not hitched up.
