Help me decipher my weight slip

I stopped by a CAT scale on the way out to our destination. We were packed for travel with a full tank of fuel. Passengers included myself, my wife, and 15 year old daughter. Tow vehicle is 2016 F250 Diesel. 5th wheel is Jayco Eagle 29.5 BHDS. According to specs it is right at 10K GVWR.

Here are the specs from the weight sheet.

Steer axle - 10660
Drive Axle - 3480
Trailer Axle - 4660
Gross Weight - 18800

I dont think I was situated on the scale correctly, because I obviously was not carrying 14K on my truck with the 5th wheel I have.
Can anybody help my decipher this. I am guessing the GVW of my truck was 10660 and the GCW was 18800. Is this correct? (Please no comments from any weight police. I am just trying to figure out these numbers)

Generally speaking if you are even with the call box(drivers seat) the axles will be on the right platforms. Re-weighs are usually $2 at Cat Scales.

I don't think OP's truck weighs 8800. Plus his gvw for the 250 should be 10,000. As he requested, everyone shouldn't jump on him if he's over or not, just want's help understanding what the numbers mean.

As pointed out OP, you should do this all over again as described on how to. If you need help, ask the clerk for help. Weigh 1st time w/ truck & trailer. Pull off scale, find a empty spot/space, drop trailer and re-weigh. Big difference will be in rear axle weight numbers. The difference between the 2 (with trailer/without trailer) is your pin weight.

So if you can, and have a CAT scale nearby, do the procedure again and re-post your findings and we will help you.

With the numbers you posted THIS ^^^^^^^^^ is the most logical ciphering
one could come up with


Truck steer/front axle should be 4600-4800 (diesel)
Truck drive/rear axle should be 5600-5800 (with trailer pin weight)
Jayco 5th wheel axles should be 6800-7200 (total of both axles)



Need to reweigh.
3 weigh platforms
Truck front wheels on forward platform
Truck rear wheels on middle platform
Trailer axles on rear platform

And you should drop trailer in parking lot and go back and get juts truck weighed.
Front wheel on forward platform, rear wheels on middle platform

Then you have ALL weights ---what truck weighs, what truck trailer weighs, what pin weight is etc


But those numbers you have make no sense.

Unloaded Vehicle Weight (lbs) 8425
Dry Hitch Weight (lbs) 1610
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (lbs) 9995
Cargo Carrying Capacity (lbs) 1570

Given these ratings I believe this poster may have it figured out if the trailer was loaded.

About:

8600 truck
2000 pin weight
8000 on trailer axles

Give or take here or there.

Add me to those that think your steer axle weights are waaaaay off. Your steer weight is close to what an 18 wheeler semi tractor would weigh.

My recommendation is not rely on guessing. Weigh it again at a future truck stop. Another $10.95 or so is worth it. Just make sure you pull in the right direction, and don't push the button for help until you know you are situated the way you want to be.

I will guess that you were pulled too far forward and had both truck axles on the "steer" section. This would mean your truck is carrying 10,660 total. Did you park on the scale in the wrong direction? so 4460 Front, 3480 Drive and 10660 trailer. Since it's a diesel these numbers look correct to me.

My geuss is your steering axle is 4660
Drive axle is 3480
trailer axles 10,660
Gross weight 18,800

I may have the steering and drive alxe waights mixed up but 3480 seems lite for a diesel on a front axle.
