We had a 30' toy hauler 5 years ago. It was a 30', no slides, no garage. It worked well for us. We had an electric golf cart we used at events we went to. With no garage, when the golf cart was pushed out, we had lots of room.

We sold it and went to a TC. We had several changes in our life at that time that caused us to change and we have been very happy with our decision.

Now we are looking at some new changes and going back to a 5er toy hauler might be a good option. I was hoping some of y'all could help us with our decision.

What we need:
1. More floor space than the TC, as we will be spending extended periods of time in one place.
2. We need to be able to put a Jeep Wrangler (stock - no lift kits, no monster tires) in the TC (need the Jeep for work - use of the trailer will be 50/50 work/play)

What we desire:
1. Slides are NOT high on our list of priorities.
2. Generator
3. No garage - would prefer all the floor space in one room. (Yes I know - it is not smart to have gasoline vehicles in the same room with you when you sleep - so I will kick it out at night)
4. Real close to 30' Dont really want to get bigger. It is just DW, the 2 fur campers and myself, so dont need more room that that.

I have plenty enough truck (see my sig) to pull most of the toyhaulers out there so that should not be an issue.

The other option we have is to sell the truck and TC and go to a class A or C and tow the jeep (we tow it behind the TC right now).

However - the truck is paid for and I am sure a good 5er toyhauler will be less than an A or C. I also see us still using the TC on some trips.

Your $0.02 pls!!!

I dont feel comfortable with the double towing. Besides, trying to keep my length down.

I had a 18' Work and Play some time ago. I liked the construction. Will check them out.

Unfortnately, it looks like all the Genesis' have slides. With the slide and the width of the jeep I would have to look at the 40 foot models to find one the jeep would fit in.

Bob Ledford's carries a lot of Work & Plays. They're up around Greenville, SC on I-85. A lot of theirs seem to have fewer options to make them cheaper so check that closely.

Up in Danville, Va., RV Outlet carries some and they're better equipped usually.

You want a car hauler with living quarters. Work and Play, InTech, Millenium and Feather Lite make these.

It's hard to find an RV toyhauler with the carrying capacity to haul a Jeep, or other heavy vehicle weighing in the 4000 lb range. Especially if you'll be living in it, which means you'll have alot of other cargo weight, besides the Jeep.

I don't know what your double towing laws are in GA, or other states you intend to visit. It may be something to consider, getting a regular RV 5th wheel trailer, a few feet shorter since you won't need to fit the Jeep inside, and towing the Jeep behind the trailer.

Most states where double towing is allowed, require the first trailer to be a 5th wheel. Some states have stipulations as to what can be towed behind the first trailer. All states have a maximum length law for the whole combination of vehicles, usually around 65-75 feet. You'd have to check your state laws for the details.
