Loose toilet--Floor mounting flange cracked.

Toilet loose from floor so removed and discovered that mounting flange has cracked in a few places. Unscrewed flange from floor and found that it's glued to drop pipe. I can see glue from flange taper to stright drop pipe which is about 6" long. End of pipe is in tank. I pryed slightly and tried to twist. I can pull flange up about a inch and I can hear/feel that I'm making top of tank flex. No access to see top of tank from basement. Was very afraid to force anything not knowing. Any ideas how to replace flange? Randu

Didn't know a flange repair kit existed. Seal surface is still good. I have problem shown in picture that Old Biscuit posted above where the outer plastic has broke away. Much simpler fix than what I thought I might have to do. Thanks, Randu

You can pick up a flange repair kit at Home Depot or Lowes that does not require removal of the original. I tried to attach a picture without success, but if you do a quick google you should get an idea of how it works with a photo.

Or you can just buy the replacement toilet bolts that are threaded for wood on the opposite end that screw directly into the floor.

This is assuming the flange area to seat the rubber gasket is still good.

Split pieces on top of old flange

Split pieces under old flange
