Hello! My husband is in the military and was sent for a year of training around the states. We opted to buy a fiver instead of rent hotels for a year and we are loving it! But wow do we have some moments. I've been searching for other families that can relate to the growing pains of the lifestyle. It's nice to find this forum!!

I've just started a humorous blog about our fantastic mistakes so far. Id love some feedback if anyone has time. Thanks!

That is really exciting! I love hearing about the unique family dynamics in all these campers. Our kids are so so far loving the adventure because time awake is time outside. I'm loving it to even though some things just need to be rearranged or re-planned for space, etc. The family on the road with 10 kids is mind boggling! And inspirational. Thanks y'all for sharing!

DH and I have been fulltiming for over 8 years. We started with our 4-yo GD and had all kinds of fun with her. When she started school, her Mom took her back and we got her a few summers.

Now she's 12, so it's just Grandpa, me and 2 cats all year long getting to know a few new cities and towns. We may be working and fulltiming at least another 8, but just never know until we get there.

I'd suggest hunting doves or ducks vs. deer. They fit in the freezer better.

Really enjoyed the blog. We camped in tents when our kids were little. They don't consider it camping in our TT so they usually just hang a hammock between some trees outside. We're still waiting on the first night a bear comes through the camp.

We family camped in 1981 when I had to go out there chasing a job. Had my parents 34' 5th and I was working in Denver. My wife,I and three girls spent the summer in a place called Shady Acres in Aurora a suburb of Denver. Shady acres hadn't seen a tree in years. I asked one day how they came up with the name. The answer was 10 years or so earlier an ice storm had taken the cottonwoods all out. Never forget going on a hunt in the mountains and when I got back the wife was still fuming. A kid in the park had ran his bicycle over our stinky slinky and not told anyone. It was broken for several hours and deposited several "items" on the gravel that she had to pick up. She still doesn't laugh about it!

That's hilarious! I KNEW we weren't the only ones in the rv world dealing with these moments. Y'all might understand my post

What do you like to hunt? We haven't gone hunting yet and keep wondering where we would put a processed deer in the camper... Is it tacky to put a deep freezer outside? Ha.

Absolutely. My secret wish is to convince the husband to just keep going and sell our house back home. He has one more assignment after this one and can retire... We might have to trade the fiver though for one with a bedroom for the kids.

What an amazing compliment! Thank you so much! Maybe I will go to the book store and look up his agent and see of they're taking submissions. I see a brighter retirement in our future from some of the mistakes we've so far made. Haha

I will pass your message to my other half! Thank you for your own service.
