Pin box question

My Fuzion has a Mor Ryde 1116 medium length pin box. Mor Ryde sells a 1716 model that would bolt right up and is 6" longer. Neither Mor Ryde nor Lippert will tell me it is or is not ok to use the longer pin box, because the frame hasn't been tested with it specifically.

Does anyone have an idea if the additional 6" of pin box length would cause an appreciable difference in the weight and torque placed on the frame at the point where the pin box is attached? I could use the added length when maneuvering and I see it as an alternative to a slider hitch.

I'm no engineer/math wiz but Lippert and Morryde's response would tell me not to do it. I've read well more than a handful of posts on three forums about pinbox and/or frame failures because of poor engineering in that area.

This statement pretty much tells me NO.

And that it is strictly 'buyer beware' .....no warranty

Neither Mor Ryde nor Lippert will tell me it is or is not ok to use the longer pin box, because the frame hasn't been tested with it specifically.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I'm in the market for a MorRyde 1116 so if you decide to get rid of hit me up.

Torque is the force applied times the distance between the point where the force is applied and the pivot point (the moment arm) and is expressed in lb-ft (or newton-meter). So what ever the torque is now, it would be multiplied by an additional half foot. Exactly how much that is and whether that is significant would be very hard to determine. Weight on the pin could be easily determined. But the moment arm, not so much. But assuming a weight of 2,000 to 3,000 lbs on the pin, I would guess it would add a fair amount of torque.

No surprise they would not give an answer.
