Primetime Fifth wheel 315 RST Crusader

Hopefully, I'll be retiring next year. We currently have a 2002 Prowler 5th wheel. It has been great as a first time RV and we have enjoyed camping with it the past two years.
We're wanting to upgrade when I retire. We're wanting to do some extended travels, possibly from Kentucky to the west coast and then up to Alaska. We could be gone for approx 3 months. After that, it would be 1-3 week travels.
We've been looking at the Primetime Crusader 315RST. They seem to be well built. Just wondering if anyone that has this model or a similar one, if you think that it could handle an extended trip?

thanks for any advice,
the Lost Travellers,
Bruce and Connie

The dreaded fading cap has been going on for years and they don't seem to have fully addressed it. Underside wearing on the slides. I probably had a dozen problems when I took delivery of mine.

Northwood had the same fading issues with their Fox Mountain brown caps and their Arctic Fox darker grey caps. The fading cap issue is industry wide. Every MFG that used the few MFG's that made the caps all had issues. I've seen Heartland, Keystone. Northwood, Forest River, Outdoor Rv, Jayco brands all with faded caps.
It's how the MFG backs up the issue thats important. Northwood only comes with a 1 year warranty. Jayco and FR at least give or offer a 2 year warranty. Many of those owners got the caps painted while in the 2 year warranty period. Most fading happened outside the 1 year period. Numerous NW owners are still unhappy.

One has to take the overall sum of parts and construction into consideration when looking to purchase. I for one am still Pi$$ed that my brown cap faded. But when looking at most other brands in the mid price range I don't see too many that offer the same build.
A fade cap is really just cosmetic and does not affect the RV's ability to perform. I will add that most all MFG's have switched to lighter colored gel coated front caps unless they're painted.

Check out Arctic Fox ....sub flooring is marine ply vs particle board construction....They are heavy solid units with a sturdy custom frame designed to withstand Alaska roads.

Marine plywood would be superior to any other type plywood but I am unaware of any flooring using particle board. Many us OSB which is a step down from marine or conventional plywood but a step up from particle board.

We had issues with floor delamination. No water damage. After finally contacting way up the ladder they agreed to fix the issue. It lasted half a season and the floor continued to delaminate further. This time they refused to fix it. The material under the slide was beginning to tear. We decided to trade with full disclosure. Wouldn't buy another.

I hAve a 2014 295rst. Not top end but far from entry level. I've had a few issues but prime time stepped up and fixed them all including a faded cap after warranty. I like our rig and am looking forward to another season.

We had a Primetime Crusader 390RL. It's construction is no better or worst then the next guy. My problem with them was not standing behind their product. It's parent company is Forest River and we had three FR products. Never buying one again. All three were troublesome with no after the sale support.

I have that one X2 go to the Primetime forum and you will see all about them. I personally have had a number of issues some over and over but that is the dealer lack of proper work. I currently have about 6000 miles on mine. Keep in mind everybody has different opinions also this is a lower end FW

Go to the Forest River web site and they have a separate form for Prime Time and the Crusader.

Check the underside of the slides. If there is a fabric like material there it is subject to tear and exposing the under side.
