Pullrite Super Glide Warning Alert - Potential Catasrophe

The nut on the "roller/bolt Assembly" for the Pullrite Super Glide came off while pulling my 5th Wheel trailer. Make sure you have the new version of the bolt "crown" that they offer with a cotter pin holding it in place. My hitch was purchased in 2013.

We were very lucky. We were going slow when the nut came off so we had no damage to the truck or trailer due to the nut coming off the bolt/roller.

Pretty sure mine is rusted in place after 12 years.
I do check the ball bearing periodically.

Anyone have the torque spec?

Be worth knowing *WHICH MODELS* of SGs have the castle nut - or should/can have a castle nut...:?

From SG Owners Manual:
"2300 and 2700 models have a castle nut and pin in the roller assembly. To re-torque, tighten roller bolt to a minimum of 125 ft lbs, then tighten more until next nut slot aligns with the stud cotter pin hole . Install cotter pin and bend one leg upward."

Will check my #3300 (from 2005) - which was the older design way tubes, and update (as there's nothing similar in the Owner's manual).

Thanks for posting this, I have a superglide also and will be calling pullrite as mine does not have the castle nut and pin.

Had the same issue with mine. Didn't fall off but I noticed it would work it's way loose.

Saw a Superglide on display at Camping World which had a castle nut on the roller. Called Pulrite, they sent me a new roller with the castle nut.
