Question about install kit...

Talked about this briefly in another post, but my husky rail universal install kit didn't state to bolt the front base rail to the frame for my year and model truck, only to the hat channel under the bed. Now looking at this custom install kit I see it only comes with 2 frame brackets as well. Anybody know what's up with this? Being Sunday I can't call them of course...

The one I have is on etrailer ht31563 and the custom kit is the ht31565-686.

I have the 05 and it didn't require any drilling of the frame to install with the custom kit. Be sure to slide the spacers into the bed channels.

Very interesting. It seems like husky reccomends drilling through the top of the frame for a 2005 Ram 2500 and as far as I have read Dodge says not to drill the top of a hydro formed frame, only the sides.

Looks like the front bolts go right through the frame and no front brackets required.

Page 5 says to fish nuts up into the frame. Long bolts go through the hats, through the frame and screws into the nuts.
Unless I am missing something sounds like they get bolted.

That's how I plan on doing it. Going to install the front frame brackets tomorrow. I just find this whole thing very odd that my instructions never said to do that and this other kit also only comes with 2 frame brackets.
