Quick connect Lpg

I have a 2014 Laredo 292RL. I'm looking at adding a quick connect for my camp chef and Coleman. Just not sure what kind of pipe to use. I found the perfect spot were the line goes to the water heater. There is a coupling and a hose, thought I could just swap out the coupling for a tee and had either a piece of pipe or hose to install the quick connect. Just not sure what type of tee to use and what else I'll need for the pipe.

There is a Teflon tape specifically for use with natural gas/propane. Ask at the home center. Around here it is yellow. Then I also like to apply a bit Teflon paste over the tape. Which mostly helps with the crappy threads you get on home center pipe.

If I could only use one, it would be the Teflon paste. Spendy, but well worth it.

Black iron pipe.

Remember, if your grill has a built in regulator (most do, some integral with the on/off and temperature control knob), it will not work on the gas line connection as the line is already regulated.

+1

If ANY of the appliances you are planning to use with your quick connect hook directly to the propane tank then the above applies... You are tapping into a line that is already regulated.

As far as the fitting, It's probably a 3/8" Flare which you should be able to find at Home Depot or Lowes.

Same here, pulled one of the couplers and added a T, went to home cheapo and found a BBQ grill quick disconnect setup with 10' hose.

That's what I did except it was an elbow going to the stove. It was a black iron elbow so I used a black iron tee.
