Raptor 2007 299MP Heat and Plumbing

Hi all, I have the above RV and have failed to find if the under-body is heated. On mine, there is a plastic cover bolted into the bottom of the frame, and when I push up on it it I feel resistance like it is insulated or something.

Just wondering if that area is heated by the furnace for camping in sub-0 or not.

Any idea?

We generally will warm up during the day, staying below freezing is not common during the day. Thanks for the feedback guys on the build of our trailers. Useful info for sure....

Our 2007 Raptor 3712TS does not have a heated underbelly. The line from the water tank to the water pump always freezes when below freezing. We don't even fill the water tank any more in the winter, just bring a bunch a of gallon water jugs with us to flush the toilets and wash our hands. I add rv antifreeze to the holding tanks to prevent the waste tanks from freezing.

We had a smell of rat/mouse urine in the trailer a few years ago and pulled the plastic corrugated sheeting down and only had one strip of fiberglass insulation in there on top of the sheeting. The floor was fully insulated covering the ducting. I cut the corrugated sheeting into 4 ft strips this time in case I had to pull it down again for easier access to the basement.

Low temps were in the 20s, days were right around freezing. Hopefully you have full power hook ups, if so keep the fan on the heater running, cabinets open and augment with a couple space heaters running on low. Don't connect your hoses, just fill your tank. Locate your water pump and try to keep it from freezing up.

I guess I'm not supprised about the Desert Fox doing a better job - I hear nothing but good about those units.

Do you recall how cold it was Y-Guy? I typically do 2-3 nights and expect the coldest temps to be down into the teens.

Our 2005 Raptor and previous Outback had the plastic corrugated barrier, the floor heat dumped some warmth in the underbelly but by no means will it keep it from freezing if you're camping for several days. Been there and done that. Our waste lines froze up. We did keep the kitchen cabinets open along with space heaters and the LP furnace we stayed warm. Last night is when we finally froze up. Friends in a Desert Fox unit which is designed for 4-seaons camping didn't freeze up.

If it has a duct going thru sub-floor and into enclosed underbelly it is just an open ended duct (no controls/register etc) and blows whenever furnace is on

Doesn't mention anything about 'heated underbelly' just enclosed underbelly in the Brochure

Look at furnace ........check the ducting on discharge and follow them.
One could go into underbelly area to blow warm air from furnace into area around the tanks.
