Real 5th Wheel lengths? Need 31'

Hi guys. My wife and I are interested in making the switch to a 5th wheel and I'm going crazy with the advertised versus actual lengths.
I like to keep it under cover and the spot in the shop is only 31' deep. We've been to multiple RV shows. dealerships and walked RV parks and most seem to be longer than our desires.

Do any of you have any recommendations for a 5th wheel in the length we're "stuck" with?

Looking for something with at least 1 and preferrably 2 slides. I have a 1 ton crew cab dually so I should be able to tow the size we're looking for.

Thanks very much........john

Our Jayco HT 26.5 RLS is listed with overall length of 29'7". I believe that's from the front of the hitch to the end of the back bumper. I saw the specs on another HT with 27 in its title and it showed overall length as 30'7". When I was looking for a FW a while ago, every web site I looked at showed the model designation and overall length. I think you could go to the sites and find that info. Every manufacturer has its own way to designate the model numbers and, at times, it doesn't seem to make sense, but they must have some idea of what they are doing. Now, if you are looking used, the web site idea won't help you much but you might be able to find something similar on the site to what you are looking at that might be of some help.

if you have a one ton truck you could pull whatever...."not should be able to."

if used, (and new) go to rvtrader.com

if new go to the different manufacturers and see the specs.
google what you want:

We have a 2005 Cardinal 29WBLW. It is 29' from inside the rear wall to inside the front wall in the closet. It is 31.5 from ladder to pin box. Now some manufacturers most use a rabbit's hat to come up with model numbers. Chris

And if it has a hitch extension and rear tire you can add 2ft or so to the length as it would sit in your shop. You could take off any hitch extension and rear wheel but a 26-28 footer would be easier to fit in.

Not trying to sell you anything but this is a typical layout for that size with slide.27ft the site says the length is approximate but since the model number is 25 I suspect the 27 is about right. Notice it has a hitch extension of about 15 inches or so.

Yes, the model numbers generally don't mean much. Our is a 34RLT and is 37'10". Check the specs or take a tape measure when shopping! Good luck!

Mine was advertised as 39'2" and it is 39'2". Added rear ladders and other things can change your exact length measurements.

I would suspect about the only thing you could do would be to look on-line and find some 29' or 30' floor plans you like and then go actually measure one. Most dealers probably have never physically measured one themselves and would just tell you what is printed in their paperwork for unit they currently have.
