For anyone thinking about upgrading, it looks like Simple Tire has Sailuns on sale today for 10% off. I have no affiliation with Simple Tire or Sailun.

Not knowing what caused the failure, it is hard to make a good comment, however if it was any kind of separation problem I wouldn't think 6 years was so good.

Have used Michelins since they introduced their radial tires in the
USA (40 years ??) and have had one failure. It was back when 2 liter soda was still in glass bottles. Someone had left a broken bottle on grocery store parking lot, my wife hit it and ripped the sidewall out of front passenger car tire.
No other failure, and have used them on practically every type of vehicle.

It was bound to happen, doesn't change my mind on them. I would like to know what happened, it sounded like a defective tire.

No debate intended from my end; I was simply posting my real world experience with them. I have yet to ready any negative reviews on these tires and they were about half the cost of US made tires so that definitely helped with my decision! :B

blofgren, I didn't say there was anything wrong with the Chinese-made product.
Just said I wouldn't be installing them on my motorhome.
But this is still a free country, do what your conscience, and pocketbook, dictates.
End of debate, so far as I am concerned.

Lots of positive real world experience with the Sailun S637 tires, however I'm not aware of much when it comes to Sailun motorhome tire sizes. However, since this is the 5th wheel forum, it's a moot point. Personally I love 'em.

I have been running them for almost 4 years on my 16k fiver and they still look like new. I would highly recommend them and will install them again when the time comes. They only lose 2-3 psi each consistently over the winter seasons as well.

Those Sailuns are going to find their way onto more then just our fifth wheels. Their Terramax AT's IMO are going to prove to be a quality truck tire for our trucks.
