SEWER HOSE STORAGE

On our previous fifth wheel, we stored our sewer hose inside the rear bumper which kept it away from the other items that we had. When we bought our new Reflection RV by Grand Design, I noticed that it does not have a rear bumper. The storage compartment is kinda small and I'm not fond of storing the sewer hose along with our other items. I was wondering what other folks do who don't have a rear bumper, where do you store your sewer hose?

I have the same built in sewer hose compartment on my rig from the factory. It's length and diameter would not accommodate much so I did the fence post cover storage underneath. I really like the retrofit of the factory compartment. I may consider that. As I get older it would be easier to access than the one underneath.

I have the OE tube that came on the fifth wheel, and I built the same as Barney's so I can haul two 15' , there is room in the OE to keep the splice fitting if needed to hook the two together. Everything is in the two tubes.

Hose mount on Cardinal

Hose mount on Cedar Creek.

Rhinoflex hose would not fit in compartment.

Cut out door assembly and mounted fence post cover to it.

Factory storage tube top.

replacement tube bottom.

The far end of the trough is open so it can be used as a hose support if needed.

I had seen similar, but appears you hold the cap on same as I do, except I just drilled a small hole thru that bolt ,and put a clip thru it.

Beautiful work man! I did similar but not near as elaborate. One of my favorite mods.

I just bought a 2021 Grand Design Reflection 311BHS. It has a hitch receiver and no bumper. It came with a sewer hose tube already attached underneath just about at the mid point near the sewer discharge tube. Are you sure yours doesn't have one?

I asked him to do one thing and he didn't do any of them.

I got a sewer tube at CW and mounted underneath. I wish I had read the forum first. The cheaper options are either a pvc pipe with screw on caps or a 4” pvc fence post with caps. Much cheaper and works the same!
