Technical question for a 5th wheel hitch

Hello everyone,

Looking for input and advice here:

Current set up:
2018 GMC with factory inbed puck system
Pullrite 20k(non-slider) hitch with the adaptor bracket to utilize the factory puck system
Trail Air pin-box on the trailer

My over height of the trailer is 13'5.5"

The hitch is adjusted as low as it can go and the pin box is adjusted as high as it can go. I have nowhere else to adjust to lower my overall height.

I am curious to those of you that have used, or are currently using the factory puck system for your 5th wheel. I am looking for a hitch that does not require the adaptor bracket(this will lower the trailer about 3").

What do you use and how do you like it?

I really like my Pullrite hitch, but the recent addition of the trail air pin box has increased the overall height of my trailer. It is noticeably "nose-up" with the current set up.

Thanks for the information,

Ryan

You already have the TrailAir pin box. Simply get a B&W puck and be happy!!!

Your best solution in terms of quality of tow would be to go back to your stock pin box and get a Trailer Saver BD5 which would mount in your pucks. Sell the TrailAir pin box and your current hitch to offset the high cost.

We purchased the reese that ford sold for our new puck system, the hitch is the same height as our pullright, it is the new truck that is eight inches taller. To right level i had to raise the pin box, i run at 12.5ft and looks good, good luck

B&W makes a great hitch to fit right in your GM puck system. Take a look at e-trailer for price and review.

I like the B&W Companion that I have. They have models specifically designed for the puck systems in the Big 3. Great hitch, easy to remove when needed.

We have the Pullrite (in my tagline) but it has no bracket for the Ford puck system. It just sits flat on the bed of the truck. I haven't measured the height of my fiver as closely as you have but generally would avoid any overpass less than 14 ft. The Titanium is an odd fiver so I'm not sure how it corresponds to most others.
