Is there anything i need to be aware of after the hitch while towing or not, makes it's way through a rain storm?

I had an 18" extension then the hitch for when I had a truck camper. I was about ready to use it as a battering ram when a car parked in front of my drive way. Lucky he came out and moved it in time. . Makes great entertainment when backed over the side walk. Handy little item those extensions sure wished I hadn't sold it. LOL

No. Grease up the ball with white lithium before departing. I leave my hitch on the truck after I unload and then tie a plastic shopping bag over the hitch to prevent anyone from getting grease on their pants.

So you're THE guy! My shin is still complaining!

Hey Jim looks like I stirred a hornets nest by commenting on your post here about the hitch being left in!

Personally, I don't like people sliding through tight spaces that would make it possible to hit my hitch. Nor will I do the same to other people's vehicles.
I give others respect that includes staying out of the bubble around their vehicle and I hope they return the favor to me. Really no need to be so close.

Yep leave it in your choice. Nice to think about some old man or lady walking along and not seeing that hunk of metal sticking out. Nice to have that "it's all about me" mentality!

You sound like the kind of person I don't want to camp next to.

Yea leaving the hitch on is IMHO just lazy and rude!

But when saying such things you will get the "I leave it on incase I am rear ended" or "you should not be walking that close to my truck".

WOW:R
My truck, my rules. What's rude is telling other people that they're lazy because they don't take their hitch out. Can't remember the last time either of my trucks DIDN'T have a hitch in the receiver.

In all of my years and being here on The Forum, I have never thought, heard or read that leaving a hitch on is lazy or especially--rude.

X1, couldn't agree with you more!

Well do you want to run into a chunk of iron with your shin? They are removable for a reason.

Maybe a trip to the optometrist is needed or possibly some research into acquiring a seeing eye dog:):):):)

"RUDE AND LAZY", I didn't realize that trailer hitches were subject to the guidelines of "Ann Landers and Martha Stewart". More importantly, "Rude and Lazy" comments are a reflection on my mother:)
