The macerator pump system

Has anyone used the portable system? How do you like it and what size
Hose do you use? On my property that I’m building the sewer is approximately 100 feet from 5wheel. I really don’t want to use a tote because once I finish the house I won’t have a need for a tote. I could always use the pump even for visitors.

Since someone brought up the Sewer Solution, I will comment even though it might be off-topic.

I have the SS, and I like it a lot. But I would not try to push waste 100' with it. They say it will work, and it might if it were all downhill, but I don't believe it would be an effective way to go even if perfectly level, and definitely not over any rise.

It breaks up solid waste just fine. That's not an issue.

We lived in the fiver for 4 months while our son and his family were having a house built and lived in our house. The trailer is in the back yard and had 50Amps and water.

I used a FloJet and 50' of 3/4" garden hose to get to a cleanout at the kitchen drain (to septic system).

The Flojet worked perfectly AFTER we sorted out a manufacturing problem. On the first one, purchased from Amazon based on delivered price, the motor froze up the third time I tried to use it. I called customer service and then e-mailed them a picture of the I.D. plate on the motor and they air shipped a replacement (entire unit) the same day under warranty.

Emptied the black tank every three days after that without a problem. I did run the grey tank into a dry well by the back fence and didn't bother pumping it, but I could have.

Had a sewer solution 15yrs ago. Thought it was good until I used the regular 3” sewer hose...the std Rhino hose, that woks MUCH better and doesn’t waste all the water a sewer solution does.

I also used a FloJet at last home where I regularly dumped to our septic, about 100’ fairly level. Used a 1” hose for this (custom ordered). This worked very well, but not as nice as the Rhino hose in our dedicated dump in our current house.

I saw that on YouTube ! I worked amazingly well !! I would not try to pump uphill more than a couple of feet.

Sewer Solution looks like a waste of money. A stream of water isn't going to break up solid waste like the blade on a macerator.

I use this macerator-pump that I made. I pump 75' thru a 3/4" hose. I do not have to put up with the 12v model over heating and having to wait for it to cool off so it will start again.

Have been using a FloJet 3" bayonet style macerator for 5 seasons now... replaced the impeller 4th season as preventive maintenance. Couldn't be happier. We haven't carried a slinky since we got it. Use a 25' and 50' standard heavy duty black rubber garden hose. Have pumped 125' and uphill with no issues... It does require a dedicated (10ga) power supply direct to battery.

We have the factory maceator pump on our Talon and love it. No more trying to get real close to the dump pipe. The nozzle fits right into the pipe and is already attached so no messing with dirty, wet hoses after the tanks are drained. One thing to watch out for is when the tanks are empty, be sure to shake out the hose to the drain before discunnecting cause there will be left over water in the hose.

What has me slightly concerned is how to drain the maceator system for winterising. Since there is a good 12 feet of hose attached to the bottom of my trailer, the hose won’t fully drain. So, it looks like I’ll have to buy 5 gallons of antifreeze this fall to make sure I get all the water out of the pump and hose.

The hose on ours is a 2” hose and that works just fine for dumping.
