Upgrades to the rig

We bought the 08 Raptor 3712ts 5th wheel last year and now that the season is upon us, it hardly seems real that we've changed so much about it.

1. Added 750 watts of 24 volt solar panels with Tri-star 45 mppt controller.
2. Installed new Magnum MS-2800 inverter with remote panel
3. Changed out existing waterpump - upgraded to a "SureFlo 5.7" waterpump
4. Replaced kitchen faucet with upgraded faucet/sprayer
5. Mounted new 3-D 42" television in livingroom
6. Mounted new 32" Digital television in bedroom
7. Installed new Fan-Tastic Fan with remote in Loft
8. New Fan-tastic fan in bathroom
9. Installed new heavy duty transfer switch
10. Added one additional landing gear motor to handle the load better
11. One new landing gear jack - covered by insurance, when some idiot tagged my rig in storage, and bent the old one.
12. Removed and replaced existing black/gray sensors with "Horbst miracle probes" - swear by these now.
13. Installed base station radio
14. Installed Uniden "Bear-Cat BCD-996XT" scanner (so we can mind the Ranger's business too)
15. Changed out all existing livingroom lighting fixtures with fluorescent fixtures and led bulbs everywhere else.
16. Replaced existing furnace blower motor with new one
17. Replaced existing thermostat with digital thermostat
18. Mounted new space-saver coffee maker under kitchen cabinet
19. Installed automatic satellite and receivers Tailgater
20. Installed decorative panels on screen doors - after replacing screens from "doggie damages"
21. Installed 2nd A/C Unit in bedroom
22. 6 new tires - 14-ply trailer tires
23. New spare tire and rim
24. Upgraded shackles to Dexter-easy flex
25. Installed new digital Jack antennae
26. Installed new wi-fi Ranger Go with mobile and cellular signal booster.
27. Installed 6 new (6-volt) batteries
28. Installed culligan filtered water faucet at sink
29. Replaced the wimpy door track for the privacy door - with new Johnson pocket door track.
30. Replaced existing toilet with Dometic 310 toilet - hated it - (long story). Replaced that with the 320 toilet.
31. New locks on all bays, doors and ramp.
32. Installed new Sleep Number air mattress.
33. Purchased new Flo-Jet sewage pump kit for dumping uphill to clean out.
34. Installed traveler SK-1000 auto Satellite Dish with 3 receivers..

Whew when I get an idea?
look out lol.
We'll start on my girl's "wish list" for the interior changes this next year. Carpet, counter-tops, etc...

For now, DID I MISS ANYTHING???

The savy buyer will appreciate the quality upgrades & know the difference between things like a modified sine wave inverter & a pure sine wave inverter. To retrofit many things would not be worth the time.

Like the OP, I am in this one for the long haul. It is the first. It is planned to be the last. After 9 years we have not seen another that we might like better. We have been to shows just for fun.

When we sell, no plans to soon, it will truly be 'turn key', right down to tools & spares carried like landing leg bevel gears & a still in the box waterpump plus all of the tools. All the new owner will need to do is stock the fridge & put in their own linens.

I honestly never try to factor in any resale value into my upgrades.
I don't care..
if I want to salvage any useful items I have installed?
I can spend a few bucks and have my guys retrieve my items to be reinstalled into a newer rig if I so desire..
Or can give them to the buyer as incentive.
Case in point.
I had a 28ft tt with 575 watts solar @ 12 volts with a 3k watt xantrex marine modified sine wave inverter/charger.
I knew I was going to go another way in the new rig . So I gave it up..
Alot of give and take as you get smarter I always say. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You are correct, but this is my home. I understand as the amount of customization I've done is only valuable to me. Not planning on selling anytime soon.

The trouble with all the upgrades, even the meaningful expensive ones, is that they don't meanmuch come selling time.

A ppotential buyer will look at the model, the year, the superficial wear & tear & ignore the quality extras put into it.

r/o and water softener are plumb on the outside front compartment, and share a vented 3/4" drain line to a p-trap tied to the 3" drain discharge.

About the R/O system?

Did you plumb the waste water to your grey water/sink drain? Or to the outside?

The story about this is the 310 has no rim in the bowl and you can imagine the unsanitary condition this can make.. flat out disgusting! what were they thinking?

Well, Momma might have to use a wheelchair and or a walker now. she was getting around with a cane but that may or may not be ok now? Time will tell,,So I might have to open up the garage door into the living area from the garage. So I guess there will be a few more mods..

You have been a busy guy. Must be a ham thing. Some serious stuff done there.

Been busy here too. Also with mostly out of sight stuff

Re engineered all spring hanger areas making them much stronger.
Wet bolts all round
Equaflex system
Upgraded springs from 6 to 7 leaf stacks
Bought blingy aluminium wheels
Replaced shocks
Replaced brake drums
Changed wet cells to single 4D AGM
Chucked converter/charger for a 2kw pure sinewave Magnum inverter charger with remote.
Jack antenna
Other little repairs along the way.
Replaced nasty steel fender skirt screws with stainless steel bolts & fender washers to spread load.

I Wish they would just sell me an empty rig with the tanks, plumbing, and wiring installed only...
