When to use water pressure regulator on fiver?

Recently we were at a campground that had 40psi for water coming into our fiver. Normally we've seen 50+ or 60+. The question I have is if water pressure is low I am guessing you do not need a regulator....in fact would the regulator reduce pressure more?

Bought one and never used it yet in 7 years. Must be lower pressure supplies on the east coast.

Mine is permanently connected to the inlet side of my whole house sediment filter, so yes, it gets used every time.

".....we will leave it at that !"

What else could you add ??...:h

Except - maybe that a Watts Regulator can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowe's - or any hardware or plumbing supply store...... usually less than at a camping supply.
(Probably via Amazon also).

Actually it was a good analogy!.:C

The cheapie ($10 variety) are *NOT* regulators - they're simply "restrictors" - and no surgery (or?) will help improve flow..:W

Also do not be confused by pressure when you might mean flow rate. All of the watts have a little different flow rate. CUMMINS12V98 probably good pressure low flow. They make pill for that! Always enjoy forum commentary

We in fact have a pressure regulator with a guage on it we purchased from CampingWorld...about $55. I have it set for 55psi. It sure is nice to see what the actual pressure is but that is just me. We went through a number of the simple brass ones that cost just a few buck but always seemed to have had problems with them. Personally like the new one. Threw out this question to see if I was on track and apparently I am. Appreciate the comments.
