Which detergent To use in Splendide washing machine

We are changing rv's. I used liquid detergent in my previous machine (Tide HE). My new Splendide is in a carpeted area (old machine was on linoleum). I was wondering if anyone used Tide or other brand pods. They would be less messy but I am concerned about the quantity of detergent for a small tub. I also read that Splendide recommends a powdered detergent -- specifically theirs. I don't really want to use a powdered detergent since I think is could be messy also, but I would like information about others' experience to help me decide. Thanks.

We use Kirkland detergent pods and Oxy Clean pods in ours. Easy, no spillage and work great.

Huh, we have always used pods in ours. I think it even came with Sprint pods when we bought the first one in 2007.

Reading the manuals, Will is right. They recommend their own powder. It does acknowledge the liquid dispenser but says 1 tablespoon, and only right before the wash cycle for whatever reason.

Wow! Such quick and thorough and helpful responses. You have answered my question. No pods and use a rug to protect carpet. Keep the quantity down and always HE.

Thanks so much.

When we had the Spendide we ordered and used the Splendide detergent. It only took about a tablespoonful per load, and lasted forever.

I only use All free and Clear HE Liquid. Hate Tide. Gives hubby a rash, and makes me itchy. Too much garbage in it. Only use about 2 tablespoons. One in each compartment

Don't remember for sure brand DW uses, but do know it is HE. But I think it is Tide.

Check Splendide Consumer Tips for the official word.

DW emailed Splendide about using pods....a no no. Ours has a flip out thing to pour liquid detergent in. And.....I was concerned about the carpet too. We put a rug over the carpet in case of spills.

DW uses Gain HE. Also follow directions on machine for amount. Not directions on the bottle. DW uses about 1/2 cap full. We have stacked units.
