Folks,

We currently rent the home we are at in Maryland. We have been doing so for 17 years. We will be moving out in April. We own a RV park model in a RV park in Florida that requires 90 day vacancy per year and doesn't allow it to be a primary residence. We plan to live in the RV during the 90 day vacancy period and the park model the other 9 months. Any suggestions on how to get a primary address?

Thanks,
John

I think this is not true. I think if residents use the RV park as a permanent residence, then it changes the status of the park from RV to mobile home. I think Florida's laws is why they have that requirement.

That may be their reasoning, but if they allow you to live there 9 months of the year, then by anyone's definition, that is your permanent residence. Taking a 3 month trip in your RV doesn't change that.

Call the DMV, the county voter registration, the IRS or any other agency and ask them where your primary residence is if you live in that park model address for 9 months each year, but have a mail drop for your mailing address.

Maybe you need to further explain what exactly they mean by, you're not allowed to use the park model as your primary residence. The park admin has no control over your primary residence status, unless they limited occupation to less than 6 months per year.
The state, the county, the IRS and other official agencies will all consider the park model to be your primary residence(if you live in it for 9 months /yr), regardless of what you use for a mailing address.
But if you want to play their game and have a different mailing address, just sign up at one of Florida's many professional mail forwarding services.

I believe the Escapees Club has an official residence/domicile arrangement set up in their park in Bushnell, Fl. with mail forwarding, etc. It is at least worth the time to check it out.
