Since starting full timimg in April, we have had to kill two or three flies a day! What could cause this? And how do I stop them?

"What could cause this" Well the Boy fly meets a girl fly and then they have babies. If you need more information go talk to the black sheep uncle that all or most families have, you know the one that lets you smoke and drink beer at 13, he can tell you in great detail. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Nuff said

So you need swat them before they meet or better yet while they are meeting so you can get a two for one swat. :B

I hope that clears that up.

I've been fulltiming over 7 years and doubt I have even had to kill 3 house flies in a whole year. Something has to be drawing them to your rig - maybe a pet, or perhaps even a dead mouse in the wall somewhere? Being around livestock will also make them more prevalent, but if you move around that would not be the issue.

Unfortunately, you dog may be the problem. Even if you pick up all his/her droppings carefully, some are left behind. Mostly all species of female flies lay their eggs in decaying materials, that create warmth, such as decaying vegetation, and this includes very small parts of dog droppings.
If you notice more flies the longer past 7 days of staying on a site, this is probably the cause as the leftover droppings build up.
We experience the same thing in our travels. At about two weeks, the local fly populations rise.

If you have this problem only in one location, there is a possibility they are coming to you. House flies can and will fly up to a mile radius from their breeding and/or food source. (Two miles if there is a steady, prevailing wind.)

Happy camping.

On occasion, we've brought pests with us and they were dormant in some of the storage bins. Once the weather warmed up, so did they. I got my exercise using a flyswatter. Luckily, we have cats who notify me when we've got unwelcome guests crawling on the curtains, etc.

We had some of those asian ladybugs. We had hundreds per day inside, so a couple of flies is nothing.

While we were in Branson we saw plastic bags half full of water hanging on lots of the business doors. I finally had to ask why and was told the shiny water moving in the bags scares away the flies.

The whole world wants to know how to eliminate flies. Two or three a day is no problem. Quickly close the door when you enter and exit the RV.
