South Dakota Info

Going into our third month of fting and are thinking of establishing a South Dakota residence. Our MH is a 2001 National Tradewinds DP with a GVWR of 28650 and the Toad is a 2011 Honda CR-V 4 wheel drive. Anyone have one of these with SD plates? If so what was the plate cost? Is it really cheaper for plates there?

Check SD now has an Ins company the will insure people under 65 under ACA. So you can get in network coverage out of state.

Switched the plates over last Thursday.

Just finished changing my plates over last week. I have a 5er so it won't be the same, but they go the weight of the vehicle when determining your cost.

Also, if you would to get the SD ccw. You will need proof that you stayed in the county that your domicile is in, and it has to be 30 days in a row for the sheriff to accept it.

Yes, as soon as I saw Sgt. Joe I realized it was you. We bought an RV lot last December out in the Foothills but are still in and out of the park a lot. Western Sands and the two parks directly south (Adobe and Sunset Palms) were just sold.
You will be OK with SD, but younger folks who aren't Medicare eligible, have big problems for policy's in SD.

We are both on Medicare and our secondary is Tricare for Life. We met about 10 years ago in Yuma in one of the Family owned 4 parks all together. Just up from the Tire store and Laundramat on 32nd.

Morning SGTJoe! My vehicles are similar (but not the same, see signature). For this year, I paid $327 for the coach and $72 for the Jeep. This is Pennington County (where America's Mailbox is).

Morning SGTJoe! My vehicles are similar (but not the same, see signature). For this year, I paid $380 for the coach and $74 for the Jeep. This is Pennington County (where America's Mailbox is).

Which state are you going to declare as your domicile for legal address....SD or UT?
That is the one that should be on DLs, Vehicle Registrations, ETC.

I'm heading to Rapid City, SD to America's mail box. Just thought perhaps some one could tell me if registering my MH and CR-V would be cheaper then Utah. 575. mh and 175. for CR-V last Nov. in Utah
