to all the fulltimers that have motorhomes what is the best or most popular vehicle to tow behind looking to get a 42 ft

Whatever is towable without modifications that you like.
We tow a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado 4 door 4 wheel drive pickup. Button on the dash sets it for towing.
Look at Trailer Life dinghy towing guide. Gives all the vehicles and what mods if any are required.

Saturn(We have the Vue which has been discontinued. The Chevrolet Captiva has taken its place)

I'm not a fulltimer or MH owner but I have noticed that Jeeps appear to be the most common and possibly Saturns next. Less and less Saturns though since they haven't been built for a few years.
Build a life you don't need a vacation from.

not a full-timer but get a toad that does not need any modification, tranny pump, drive shaft disconnect, etc. to tow. and check the owner's manual for instructions under either towing behind a motorhome or recreational towing to verify towability. do not rely on other non-official sources other than for the initial cut at potential toads.
