I had to special order an 1175 bulb for the porch light on the MH. Is there an led replacement that anyone knows about?

Thats rhetorical.. Can you post pix of the LED and fixture? LEDs do generate heat but I've not seen one melt a fixture designed for an incandescent.

How can I? What do you mean? It just happened, I didn't do anything other than put the new bulb in.

How can you remove an 1141 incandescent and melt a lens with a replacement LED?

So I put the new cool LED bulb in last night and sure as hell it melted the lens on the light. So frustrating!

So I took the "1175" bulb to batteries plus bulbs today. The stamp in big letters on the bulb said 1175 and he got the magnifying glass out and stamped in little letters was 1141ll. So it's actually an 1141. They had a direct replacement LED bulb. Bulb is way better for the porch light. I wonder if they would be good for lights inside like shower and vanity, maybe lights over the dining room table. Like to hear your opinions. Also thank you all for the advice on the other issue.

Thank you all for your replies. I have the 1175 bulbs now. I'll do some research on the LED's, i'd like to go that way when i find the one I need.

This is a MR16 led low watts. I have these in my lawn lights 12volts. Without a picture who knows

Missing Link

Jeff and I agree that his description is of a BA15 based bulb and I posted a link to a seller that has what he described with various lumens and the panel is rotatable. It is what is in my porch light.

I suggested in a PM that a photo would be great and would answer everyone's questions. He may be discouraged from all the different ideas about Bi-Pin bulbs and no one knowing about a 1175 QH bulb and has given up responding.

sorry, just reread your post. It has one base contact but two pegs to hold it in, hope that makes sense.
can you post a pic of this bulb? That's like a BA15 base you're describing, and there are lots of filiment and LED replacements. Still never heard of an 1175

Problem with the size of the photo, I'll try another route.

clicky

This may be what you want. I have one in my porch light and the face of the leds will rotate about 270 degrees.

1157 is a standard dual filament auto tail light bulb with a bayonet base. A porch light would use an 1141 if it were a bayonet base. 1156 is a single filament bayonet base identical looking to a 1141 but much higher wattage and should not be used, as it can burn or melt the insulator in the socket. 1156 is more of an intermittent use bulb for backup lights.

Looking thru GE minature lamp listings, there is no 1175.

Does it have dual contacts on the base or one in the center? Is it a bayonet base like an older automotive bulb?

Does the light look like one of these?

Bargman porch lights

If that is what it is, then it uses an 1141 bulb.

I used these LED lights in my fixtures including the porch light.

It's a dual pin halogen? Never seen one of those in a porch fixture
