Im trying to see if i have voltage to the fuel pump , I know its a fuel issue because it fires right up on starter fluid, this is the first time ive ever worked on this system,Im trying to find out how the fuel system works, does it supply continuous voltage to the pump or just momentary? Also trying to figure out the power route, does it go from Ign switch to relay then fuse to the inertia switch then the pump?Just trying to check all windows before i drop the tank for nothing. The M/H didnt quit on me , It just wouldnt start in the driveway after sitting for about a month and a half. Thanks,Jason

I got power thru the inertia switch, Looking at the harness around the tank to the pump, It's very tight under there can't seem to locate the wiring to the pump, Does anybody know what color the Hot wire is to the pump? Also how close to the front of the tank is the pump? Thanks for all the help!

Check the VIN on your F53 to see what year it is. There were no 1998 F53's made, so it's probably a '97, but a '98 coach on a '96 chassis is not unheard of. The 10th digit in the VIN will be a 'T' for a '96, or a 'V' for a '97.

On my 1998 Triple E F53, I was able to cut an access hatch directly above the fuel pump, below the rear bed. I realize this isn't an option on a lot of coaches, but worth looking into. I can access the fuel pump in a matter of minutes.

How many miles are on the RV? F-53's had a problem with the fuel pumps during the mid 90's. I still have my original fuel pump at 45,000 miles. I know I should be changing it soon, but it is kinda difficult to remove it.

You might want to just go ahead and replace the pump.

You should be able to check the relay holder for power on the contact pin. If power is present you could jumper to the output pin location to see if pump will run.
It may not run if your filter on line is plugged or restricted.
Some MHs have a connector adjacent to the fuel tank for the pump and gauge.

The pump only runs for a couple of seconds when you turn on the key. You should be able to hear it running. If not, check the fuse, and also check the fuel pump relay.

Have you located the fuel pump relay? It is powered off fuse 17(?) and energized through the PCM.
Have you checked the fuel filter? You could put temporary line on the tank side line at the filter and turn on key to see if pump will fill bottle.
