Our RV was stored over winter in a garage. We had trickle charge on house batteries and they kept charge. Coach battery was also on trickle charge but would not start, so we used a booster (eliminator) to try and start it but nothing. The odometer said reduce engine power. Not sure what this means. We know the house battery needed to be replaced and our question is
Will a new battery eliminate our problem and should we go with a Group 27 795 CCA
The battery used for the coach engine was deep cycle and smaller then the Group 27. Thoughts on the deep cycle as well.

I had my 2 motorhomes stored all winter in a non-heated polebarn with no electric for charging. We did have a little milder winter this year than last. It only got to -7F a couple of times and most time was between 0 & 10F. Last week both started up with no boost or any problems. Radio settings remained as last fall. A fully charged battery should hold with no problem.

Usually the chassis/engine battery is NOT a deep discharge type of battery since it is not supposed to be drained like your house batteries. Your owner's manual should tell you what type and size of battery to use.
You should keep a trickle charger on the engine battery at any time when the coach is not being used since there are several things that will be drawing a slight amount of current on a continuous basis.
If your batteries were allowed to discharge, the engine computer may be giving some false information that will change once the engine is started and the electronic control module goes through the reset procedure.
