2008 Damon Daybreak 3276 Loose Mirror

I have a 2008 Damon Daybreak 3276 with a loose drivers side mirror. The 4 screws are tight when I checked, not sure if any others have had this issue before.

The mirror noticeably bounces when going down the wonderful Michigan roads, the passenger side does not do this. When you go outside you can move the entire mirror up and down and the side wall of the MH flexes a little.

My next step was to remove the screws and take it off but I thought I would throw it on here first. I did check from the inside to see if I could feel or see anything and it appears normal.

Check to see if you have had a leak in that area and the wood/foam is soft underneath. This will cause the mirror to vibrate. Coin tap the surrounding area and compare that sound to a known good area the bad area will be more of a thud sound. I found longer lag screws from Lowe's and screwed it into a 1 in thick piece of oak plank that fits between the wall and dash and is hidden.

I had the same on my 06 Daybreak. Except on the passenger side. I drilled all the way thru and used a nut / bolt set up. You can't see it from inside. It is just below the top of the dashboard. The out side has a bolt head vs a screw head so hardly noticeable.
They use wood type screws to set the mirrors and with the vibrating it just stripped the screw holes.

There is a Set Screw (Allen Wrench) inside the "elbow" of the mirror mount. You should be able to see the hole from the driver's seat. I had the same problem with my Winnebago just 6 weeks ago.
